LaCroix, Voss record double-doubles in DWU’s big win

Dakota Wesleyan University improved to 2-0 on the season with a 107-43 victory over Oglala Lakota Saturday in a men’s nonconference basketball game at the Fulton State Bank Classic at the Corn Palace.

Bo LaCroix had a double-double, adding a game-high 27 points and 11 rebounds for the Tigers, who shot 58 percent from the field a day after opening the season with a win over Mayville State.

Jalen Voss was the second Tiger of the day to record a double-double. The sophomore forward had 13 points and 10 rebounds.

DWU senior Aireus Stephenson scored 12 points, freshman Jade Miller had 11 points and Mike Lee and Carde Pennington each had 10.

The Tigers, leading 57-25 at halftime, got six assists from Luke Bamberg. DWU eclipsed the century mark for the first time Nov. 3, 2009, when the Tigers defeated Trinity Bible 101-53 in the opening game of their season.

DWU hosts York College at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Corn Palace in another nonconference game.
