Sutton to leave SD Community Foundation, join Avera

Bob Sutton has reached agreement to be the new vice president for community relations for the Avera Health System.

Bob Sutton has reached agreement to be the new vice president for community relations for the Avera Health System.

Since 2003, he has been the executive director and president for the South Dakota Community Foundation.

He plans to make the switch at year’s end and will continue to live in Pierre, at least until the family’s children complete high school.

Sutton succeeded Bernie Christenson as chief executive for the foundation, which was formed during the administration of Gov. George Mickelson.
