LEGION AUXILIARY MEETING SET: Coacher-Goetsch American Legion Auxiliary Unit 18 will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5, at the American Legion Post Home, Mitchell.

Please plan on attending, as all member support is needed to complete projects that support our veterans.

BLOOD DRIVE SCHEDULED AT LOCAL HOSPITAL: LifeServe will hold a blood drive from 1 to 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5, in the Community Room, Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell.

SUPPORT GROUP TO MEET: The Diabetes Support Group will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5, in Conference Room 2, Avera Queen of Peace Hospital, Mitchell. A videoconference program, “Diabetes Medication Update” will be presented by Mary Oyos, RN, Certified Diabetes Educator at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Today in local history

Dakota Wesleyan University, Mitchell, announced on this date in 2009 that it was donating $150,000 to the fundraising efforts for the soccer complex being built north of Mitchell. The surprise donation raised the fundraising total to $722,000, more than the $700,000 desired.
