BankWest President Ryan Huber is proud of his community. He is also proud of the investment his bank is making in the community, with the addition of a new 3,900-square-foot branch near Mitchell’s Highland Mall.
“I grew up in Mitchell and seeing this type of investment in our community is incredible,” Huber said. “BankWest actually predates South Dakota’s statehood, but they continually look toward the future. This new branch will definitely serve generations to come and will be a great addition to Mitchell.”
During the next two weeks, Highland Mall’s BankWest will be moving to its new location at 1200 E. Spruce. Huber expects the transition will be seamless and customers will be unaffected. The move will begin late next week and the new bank will be open for business at 9 a.m. Monday. The brick and stone-faced building will feature an expanded lobby and banking area, safe deposit boxes, two drive-up lanes and an ATM lane.
“Customers will see virtually no changes to our hours and services during this transition period,” Huber said. “The only noticeable change is that our drive-up window will be closed on Saturday. During that day, however, we will offer drive-up service at our Sanborn Avenue branch.”
Puetz Corp. of Mitchell served as the building project’s general contractor and nearly all of the 17 subcontractors included local businesses.
BankWest is a locally owned, community bank with branches in 11 South Dakota communities. The bank provides a wide array of financial services including trust, insurance and investment services.
