Area players make SD Heisman list

KIMBALL — Two area high school football players made the cut as the 19th annual Wendy’s High School Heisman Award narrowed its list down to 20 players for South Dakota.

Kimball/White Lake’s Trevor Reinesch and Canistota’s Boone DeKramer were picked as finalists from a field of 291 players.

The top 20 finalists are made up of 10 boys and 10 girls. These 20 players embody hard work and dedication through their achievements in athletics, academics and community leadership.

One male and one female will be chosen as state winners Nov. 5. Of the state winners, 12 will be chosen as national finalists and will go on to compete for the national winner title Dec. 7 in New York City.
