RAPID CITY (AP) — A man accused of robbing a Rapid City casino in July has pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery.

The media reports that 25-year-old Billy Robertson in court on Monday admitted to robbing the King of Hearts Casino with a pellet gun. In exchange for his guilty plea, prosecutors dropped some misdemeanor charges.

Robertson told Judge Jeff Davis that he robbed the casino because he was broke and his rent was due. He was arrested after crashing his car following the robbery and unsuccessfully trying to hide in a culvert.
