Activities for the week of Oct. 29 through Nov. 5 are as follows:
Today, there is no school in Mount Vernon. There will be a fifth- and sixth-grade girls’ basketball game in Mount Vernon vs. Dakota Christian at 4:30 p.m. and a fifth- and sixth-grade boys’ basketball game at 5:15 p.m.
Tuesday, there will be a fifth- and sixth-grade girls’ basketball game vs. Stickney/Corsica at 4 p.m. at Mount Vernon with the boys’ game at 4:45.
There will be a girls’ varsity volleyball tournament in Plankinton with McCook Central/Montrose at 7 p.m. Thursday there will be a girls varsity volleyball tournament at 7 p.m. The Salem Lutheran Church of Mount Vernon will have its annual soup, sandwich and pie supper and bake sale on from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church Sunday.
A free-will offering will be accepted and supplemented funds provided by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Everyone is welcome.
Nov. 5, there will be a fifth- and sixth-grade girls’ basketball game at Ethan at 4 p.m. with the fifth- and sixth-grade boys playing at 4:45 p.m.
Plan ahead for St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Mount Vernon soup and sandwich supper from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 20. All are welcome to attend.
