CRETE, Neb. — Eric Moller scored the game-winning goal in double overtime to lift the Dakota Wesleyan University men’s soccer team over Doane 2-1 Saturday.

Moller’s goal was off a corner kick by Tyler Grilley and the Tigers improved to 5-11-2 overall.

DWU’s Hugo Gonzalez scored the first goal five minutes into the game.

Both teams had seven shots on goal and Tiger goalie Emmanuel Paravalos made six saves.

Tiger women fall 3-1 in GPAC game

CRETE, Neb. — The Dakota Wesleyan University women’s soccer team lost 3-1 to Doane College Saturday.

The Tigers dropped to 2-10-1 on the season and Thara Ali Said scored DWU’s only goal in the 37th minute of the game.

Doane outshot DWU on goal 23-5. Tiger goalie Erika Carpenter made 18 saves and gave up three goals in the loss.

DWU volleyball goes 1-1 at home

The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team lost to No. 19 Doane College 3-0 but defeated Presentaion College in straight sets in a triangular Saturday in Mitchell.

Doane defeated the Tigers 25-13, 25-14, 25-19. Danielle Bird had 10 kills, five digs and one ace and Briana Jung tallied 25 set assists and two digs.

The win against the Saints was the Tigers’ sixth victory of the season, winning 26-24, 25-16, 25-10. No stats were reported for the match.
