Duane Heinert, Omaha, Neb.

Duane Michael Heinert, 53, Omaha, Neb., formerly of Mitchell, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at Madonna Rehabilitation Center Hospital, Lincoln, Neb.

He was born on Sept. 6, 1959.

Local funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at Bittner Funeral Chapel, Mitchell. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Mitchell. Visitation will be one hour prior to services today at the funeral home.

Funeral services were held on Friday at Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church, Omaha. Visitation was at Braman Mortuary Southwest Chapel, Omaha.

Duane Heinert was born to Herbert and LaRue (Schnabel) Heinert at Mitchell.

He grew up and attended schools in Mitchell, graduating from Mitchell High School. He earned his bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of South Dakota. He married Patti Pesicka in 1982.

He is survived by his wife, Patti, Omaha; his mother, LaRue Heinert, Mitchell; two daughters: Melissa Heinert and Rebecca Heinert, both of Omaha; brother, John Heinert and wife, Darla, Cleveland, Ohio; sisters, Judy Kayser and husband, Richard, Alexandria; and Susan Stern and husband, John, Minneapolis, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; and a sister, Karen Cheeseman.
