PIERRE (AP) — Gov. Dennis Daugaard and First Lady Linda Daugaard say they expect to hand out up to 2,000 pieces of candy to kids trick-or-treating at the Governor's Mansion on Halloween.

The Daugaards say they will be passing out candy to children who come by the mansion from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. The two will be dressed as President Lincoln and his wife First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln.

The Daugaards also ask that children and parents follow Halloween safety tips, including trick-or-treating during daylight or with a flashlight and inspecting candy before pieces are eaten.
