LETTER: What do Romney, Obama support and/or oppose?

To the Editor:

What Mitt Romney supports/Barack Obama opposes:

• Vouchers that allow parents to choose private school for children;

• Voluntary prayer in public schools and facilities;

• Permanent elimination of the “Death Tax”;

• Passage of a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution;

• Appointing judges who adhere to a strict interpretation of the Constitution;

• Parental notification for abortions by minors;

• Maintaining current federal law defining marriage between one man and one woman;

• Prohibiting military from forcing chaplains to perform same-sex marriages;

• Repealing “Obamacare” that forces citizens to buy insurance or pay a tax;

• Requiring welfare recipients to work or get job training;

• Enacting an energy independence plan that creates a free market for all energy sources and encourages homegrown, clean energy innovation;

• Official U.S. recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

What Romney opposes/Obama supports:

• Sex education for children in kindergarten through 12th grades;

• Increasing federal income tax rates;

• Use of taxpayer dollars to bail out private companies;

• Further restrictions of the right to bear arms;

• Public funding of abortions;

• Requiring religious groups to cover birth control and abortions;

• Government subsidized in-state college tuition discounts for illegal aliens. May we vote by our conscience what we feel is the best for our people and country.
