Today in local history

City Council members were pondering what to do with the left over $750,000 in next year’s budget for the events center on this date in 2007.

Suggestions including keeping the money for a future events center proposal or spending it to help construct the 10-field soccer complex. Returning it to the city taxpayers did not appear to be an option.
