To the Editor:

I have known and liked Kristi Noem since she was a little girl, but last week I received three mailings from the South Dakota Republican Party that bother me.

It seems that they have overlooked her accomplishments and instead emphasized some imagined problems that her opponent might present. Kristi’s accomplishments are many.

After 48 percent of voters elected her, in less than two years she has voted consistently in support of the many wealthy individuals and corporations in South Dakota.

She joined and became a leader in the most biased and closed-minded group in the history of the United States Congress in an attempt to embarrass our president. She voted 31 times to repeal the Affordable Care Act, that she likes to call “Obama Care,” even though it is a bipartisan law that had been developed over many years and signed into law by a president that she says lacks leadership skills.

She attended four of the 20 meetings of the House Agriculture Committee that she was appointed to. She says that she tried to get the farm bill passed, but her group decided to wait until it expired. In addition to that, while fully employed by tax payers, she managed to complete her bachelor’s degree at SDSU (a project she started many years ago). I may have missed some of her accomplishments, but these are outstanding.

I think she deserves to be retired from public service so she can spend more time with her family and horses. I will work toward that end.
