Taylin Alm had 10 kills, Sidney Neugebauer recorded six and Kerri Young added four in the loss. Kendra Morgan had 18 set assists and Megan Farnham had seven digs.
“We did not respond very well to their serves and did not serve receive well enough,” Mitchell coach Deb Thill said. “They’re tough to beat.”
The Kernels (12-7) are back in action Thursday as they host Brookings for the final regular season game and Mitchell’s senior night.
The stakes are high in the Eastern South Dakota Conference matchup because second place in the conference is up for grabs. Aberdeen Central will finish in first.
The game is set to begin at 7 p.m. at the Mitchell High School.
JV: Roosevelt, 25-27, 25-14, 25-20. Allison Murphy and Shelly Iburg had six kills apiece. Taylor Sebert had 10 digs.
Sophomores: Roosevelt, 25-17, 25-12.
Freshmen A: Roosevelt, 25-23, 25-13.
Freshmen B: Mitchell, 25-21, 5-25, 25-19.
