Ethan students selected for All-State Chorus Festival

Colton Bierle, Tori Pollreisz, Anna Mueller and Hanner Tilberg were chosen to represent Ethan at this year’s All-State Chorus Festival.
The four students, along with their vocal instructor Paul Mah, will travel to Rapid City Oct. 25-27.
The All-State Chorus and Orchestra concert will be at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Jada Plastow, a fifth-grade student in Ethan, was chosen to participate in Elementary Honors Choir. She also will travel to Rapid City and participate in a concert on Saturday at 3 p.m.
The Ethan Quiz Bowl team participated in its first contest on Oct. 16. Ethan defeated Huron in the opening round.
Members of the quiz bowl team are Duane Mutziger, Brandon Andersen and Danika Pollreisz.
Alternates for the team are Alex Gerlach and Lewis Bruske. The team is coached by Bryce Roth.
Members of the Ethan Student Council will be attending the region student council meeting on Wednesday.
Student council representatives from Ethan this year are: seniors Shelby Fathke, Alex Gerlach and Duane Mutziger; juniors Reed McBrayer, Anna Mueller and Kala Nurnberg; sophomores Aliea Kretschmer-Webster, Hanner Tilberg and A.J. Werning; and freshmen Kaycee McGuire, Camden Myers and Ethan Riggs.
The Student Council adviser is Gaylord Goehring.
On Wednesday, Avera St. Benedict Health Center and the medical staff will be at the school to provide seasonal flu vaccines.
The vaccine will be free of charge for all children from the age of 6 months to 18 years.
A form was sent home with the students on Friday.
If you would like your child to receive the vaccine, please fill out the form and return it to the school.

Thursday: Fifth- and sixth-grade basketball vs. Corsica at 6 p.m.
Saturday: All-State Chorus Concert, 7 p.m., MST, Rapid City; fifth- and sixth-grade girls’ basketball tournament at Mount Vernon.
Sunday: American Legion Auxiliary Halloween Carnival at the Ethan gym.
