FREMONT, Neb. — The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team lost in straight sets to No. 22 Midland University Saturday in Fremont, Neb.

Set scores were 25-13, 25-17, 25-23.

The Tigers dropped to 5-23 overall and 1-10 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference, while Midland improved to 18-8 on the season and 9-3 in conference play.

Rachel Tinklenberg and Sammy Fluck each had 10 kills and Sam Sandau added seven kills and three blocks.

Danielle Bird recorded 15 digs and two blocks and Briana Jung tallied 23 set assists and six digs.

Tiger men shut out by Midland

The Dakota Wesleyan University men’s soccer team was shut out by Midland University 3-0 during its senior day Sunday in Mitchell

The Tigers have seven seniors on the team and dropped to 3-11-2 on the season.

Senior Hugo Gonzalez had two shots on goal in the loss, while senior Nick Sterling had one.

DWU’s Emmanuel Paravalos gave up three goals and made six saves in the loss.

The Tigers hosts Northwestern College at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Mitchell Pepsi Cola Soccer Complex.
