Fire on top of pole easily contained

A fire on top of a telephone pole was easily contained Thursday night, according to the Mitchell Fire Department.
Mitchell firefighter Mark White said the department responded to a telephone pole fire in the alley behind 216 E. 11th Ave. around 7:19 p.m. Thursday.
He said firefighters spent about an hour at the scene.
As for the cause, White said NorthWestern Energy is still investigating what sparked the flame, and how much damage was done.
