PIERRE (AP) — A Rapid City man has pleaded guilty to assaulting a federal officer at a Black Hills lake.

U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says 25-year-old Cody Gallagher was accused of assaulting a park ranger who was trying to make him leave the area at Horse Thief Lake Campground in July.
Gallagher could be punished by up to a year in prison and a $100,000 fine. His sentencing has been set for Jan. 3.
