STICKNEY — The American Legion Post No. 26, Stickney, is building a Veterans Memorial at the Stickney Roadside Park along Highway 281.

All living veterans who would like their name on the memorial are asked to send $50 to the American Legion Post No. 26, P.O. Box 251, Stickney, S.D., 57375, by Nov. 1.

All the names of deceased veterans who are called at the Memorial Day program will be paid for by the Legion. Once the memorial is built, there will no longer be a program at the cemetery on Memorial Day; it will be held at the park. If anyone knows of a deceased veteran whose name is not called on Memorial Day, they’re asked to notify one of the members.

For information, call Al Munneke at 732-4410 or Jerry Larsen at 732-4597.
