PARKSTON — Despite dropping the opening set, the Parkston volleyball team came back to win in four sets against Mount Vernon/Plankinton Monday in Parkston.
Set scores were 20-25, 25-18, 25-11, 27-25.
MVP’s Mikayla Weiss had 10 assists, Megan Wieczorek had six kills and Haley Haak recorded 39 digs and two aces for the Titans. Megan Bultsma added five blocks.
No stats were available for the Parkston Trojans despite attempts to reach coaches.
Parkston (9-12) hosts Bon Homme today, while Mount Vernon/Plankinton (11-11) plays in a tournament in Tyndall Saturday.
ARMOUR — Platte-Geddes defeated Tripp-Delmont/Armour in straight sets in a high school volleyball match Monday in Armour.
Set scores were 25-12, 25-18, 25-13.
Platte-Geddes’ Shelby Rabenberg had eight kills and seven digs in the win, while Kelli Sprik led all players with 22 set assists. Sprik also had five kills, three digs and two aces and Maddy Tegethoff added 10 digs and three aces for the Black Panthers.
TDA’s Kelli Batterman had 21 digs, seven kills and three aces, Rachel Mora recorded 19 digs and Jessica Sandau added 10 set assists.
TDA (6-13) plays in a tournament in Lake Andes Saturday, while Platte-Geddes (14-6) also won the JV game and plays at Kimball today.
Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 3,
STICKNEY — The Sanborn Central/Woonsocket volleyball team defeated Corsica/Stickney in straight sets Monday in Stickney.
Set scores were 25-18, 25-19, 25-20.
Candace Page-Marten recorded 14 digs and seven set assists for the Blackhawks and Shelby Selland had four kills.
Corsica/Stickney’s Brianna Kuyper had 10 set assists, Missy Johnson recorded 17 digs and Jackie Dethlefsen had eight kills and five blocks in the loss.
Sanborn Central/Woonsocket (17-5) hosts Hitchcock-Tulare today in Woonsocket. Corsica/Stickney (7-13) hosts Avon today in Corsica.
Scotland 3, Hanson 0
ALEXANDRIA — Christy Mogck recorded 51 digs in Scotland’s 3-0 win over Hanson Monday in Alexandria.
Set scores were 25-23, 26-24, 25-18.
Scotland’s Kennidy Asche led all players with 11 kills and added seven blocks and two aces in the win. Amber Alvey had 28 set assists and Carley Skorepa tallied 16 digs, 10 kills and four blocks.
Hanson’s Kynedi Cheeseman had 10 kills, seven digs and six blocks. Kendra Cheeseman recorded 12 set assists and Abby Kayser had 10 digs and four aces.
Hanson (16-7), which won the JV match, hosts Freeman today, Scotland (12-8) plays Irene-Wakonda Friday in Wakonda.
Colome 3, St. Francis Indian 1
COLOME — Tracy Routh had 26 set assists and five aces in Colome’s 3-1 win over St. Francis Indian in high school volleyball action Monday in Colome.
Set scores 25-17, 20-25, 27-25, 25-21.
Colome’s Jessie Pravecek and Tiffany Hauf had 21 digs apiece. Becca Moorhead recorded 11 kills.
No stats were reported for St. Francis Indian.
Colome hosts Kimball Friday.
Alcester-Hudson 3, Marion 1
MARION — Courtney McKee had 23 set assists and 13 digs in Alcester-Hudson’s 3-1 victory over Marion Monday in Marion.
Set scores were 20-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-22.
Marion’s Kylie Hughes recorded 29 digs and 17 kills in the loss. Katherin Luke had 23 set assists and 14 digs and Ashley Rosenwald-Muller had 11 kills, three aces, two digs and one block.
Alcester-Hudson’s Jessica Wegh recorded 18 digs and eight kills in the win.
Marion (21-4) won the JV match and hosts McCook Central/Montrose Friday, while Alcester-Hudson (16-7) plays Lennox today.
Ethan 3, Avon 0
ETHAN — The Ethan volleyball team defeated Avon 25-18, 26-24, 25-22 Monday in Ethan.
Ethan’s Anna Mueller had 10 kills and five blocks and Darbi Gustafson had eight kills. Danika Pollreisz recorded 12 digs, Tori Pollreisz added eight digs and two aces and Holley Lindeman recorded 22 set assists and two aces. Morgan Tuttle also added two aces in the win.
Avon’s Alyson Roth had 10 kills, four set assists and one ace. Chesney Nagel added six kills and two blocks. Amanda Rieff and Ariana Oorlog had six digs apiece. Oorlog also added two blocks.
Ethan (14-8) hosts White Lake Friday, while Avon (11-10) plays Corsica/Stickney today.

NEW HOLLAND — Despite dropping the opening set, the Dakota Christian volleyball team beat Wolsey-Wessington in four sets Monday in New Holland.
Set scores were 20-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-14.
Dakota Christian’s Abbi Baan Hofman had 11 kills, five digs, three blocks and one ace. Brooklyn Vander Pol recorded nine kills, 10 digs, three set assists and three aces. Germaine Big Crow led all players with 10 set assists, while Amber Baan Hofman had 13 digs, four kills and two aces.
Wolsey-Wessington’s Sydney Tschetter had 13 kills and six blocks and Brittany Bergquist recorded 12 digs, 11 aces, four kills and two blocks in the loss.
Dakota Christian (9-13) won the JV game and plays in a tournament in Lake Andes Saturday, while Wolsey-Wessington (10-11) hosts Sunshine Bible Academy today in Wolsey.
