Fort Thompson man sentenced for thefts

FORT THOMPSON — A 19-year-old Fort Thompson man convicted of stealing checks was sentenced Tuesday to time served and ordered to pay $1,700 in restitution.

FORT THOMPSON — A 19-year-old Fort Thompson man convicted of stealing checks was sentenced Tuesday to time served and ordered to pay $1,700 in restitution.

Aaron Grass Rope pleaded guilty Aug. 14 to one count of larceny for stealing eight checks from an individual in July 2011.

Grass Rope served seven months and one week in prison while awaiting sentencing and will spend 18 months under supervised release.

Grass Rope has been released.
