MADISON (AP) — Two longtime educators are resigning as principals from Madison Public Schools.

Sharon Knowlton at Madison High School, and Dan Walsh at Madison Elementary School, have separately asked the district's school board to accept their resignations.

The media reports that Knowlton has worked as a school administrator for eight years and has 42 years of education experience. She's moving to St. Paul, Minn., where her husband has accepted a job with Minnesota State Colleges and Universities.

Walsh is retiring at the end of this school year. He served as the elementary school's principal for 31 years. Before that, he taught sixth grade for 16 years.
