PLANKINTON — Chamberlain improved to 15-3 this season with a high school volleyball win over Mount Vernon/Plankinton in straight sets Thursday. Set scores were 25-19, 25-21, 25-23.
Chamberlain was led by Abbey Handel with 15 set assists, three aces and 10 digs. Jaymee Knippling recorded three aces and two blocks for the Cubs. Laura Pazour and Logan Pickner each had 10 kills. Jesse Brownell had 13 digs.
The Titans were led by Megan Bultsma, who had eight kills. Megan Wieczorek added seven kills. Kallyn Prangley recorded 15 set assists and Dani Stolz had three blocks. Mikayla Weiss was the leader in digs for Mount Vernon/Plankinton with 13.
Chamberlain hosts Winner Tuesday. Mount Vernon/Plankinton, which is 10-8 this season, hosts Wagner Monday in Mount Vernon.
Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 3,
ARMOUR — Rachel Selland had eight kills to lead Sanborn Central/Woonsocket over Tripp-Delmont/Armour in straight sets Thursday. Set scores were 25-14, 25-17, 25-17.
Candace Page-Marten led the Blackhawks’ defense with 18 digs. Rachelle Moore added 12 digs and Selland added 10. Page-Marten had 10 set assists in the win and served three aces. Selland served four aces and Moore served two aces. Selland also had three blocks.
Kelli Batterman and Hannah Just had five kills apiece for the Nighthawks. Batterman also had 11 digs. LaNae Fuerst recorded 13 digs. Jessica Sandau had six set assists and Morgan Ziegler had five. Rachel Mora served two aces.
Sanborn Central/Woonsocket is 15-4 this season and hosts James Valley Christian Tuesday in Woonsocket. Tripp-Delmont/Armour is 5-11 this season and hosts Mount Vernon/Plankinton Tuesday in Tripp.
Winner 3, White River 0
WHITE RIVER — Cassidy Hanson recorded 16 kills and 10 digs to lead Winner over White River in straight sets Thursday. Set scores were 25-16, 25-13, 25-16.
Sara Husher had seven kills, 15 set assists and four digs for the Warriors. Kennede Mathis had six kills. Kristin Hennebold had 15 assists and eight digs.
White River’s stats were not available.
Winner (13-6) and White River (13-9) play in the White River Tournament Saturday.
Corsica/Stickney 3, South Central 1
BURKE — Corsica/Stickney had three players with 10 or more kills in a win over South Central in four sets Thursday. Set scores were 25-17, 22-25, 25-12, 25-20.
Hope Menning served three aces and recorded 16 digs and 10 kills in the win. Brianna Kuyper served two aces and had 33 set assists. Missy Johnson had 23 digs. Kara Prien had 10 digs and 14 kills. Jackie Dethlefsen had 12 kills and two blocks and served four aces.
Stats were not available for South Central.
Corsica/Stickney (7-10) plays Platte-Geddes Monday in Platte. South Central (7-8) hosts Dakota Christian Monday in Burke.
Avon 3, Bridgewater-Emery 1
AVON — Avon picked up a win at home over Bridgewater-Emery in four sets Thursday. Set scores were 27-25, 23-25, 25-20, 25-20.

ALEXANDRIA — Kynedi Cheeseman had 15 kills and six digs to help Hanson to a 3-0 win over Mitchell Christian in high school volleyball action Thursday in Alexandria. Set scores were 25-12, 25-16, 25-21.
Kendra Cheeseman had 18 assists and three aces for the Beavers, who also won the JV match. Lindsi Dey led the team in digs with 12 and aces with four. Abby Kayser also had four aces to go along with her six digs.
Ellie Bleeker led Mitchell Christian with five kills, eight digs and five aces. Emily Schrag had eight assists and seven digs.
Hanson (14-6) takes on Menno Tuesday in Menno, while Mitchell Christian (2-11) faces Dakota Christian Thursday in New Holland.
Marion 3, Howard 0
HOWARD — Marion went on the road and defeated Howard in straight sets Thursday in high school volleyball action in Howard. Set scores were 25-21, 25-23, 25-16.
Erica Schoenwald had five aces and six blocks for Marion, while Kylie Hughes led the team in kills with nine. Hughes also had 12 digs. Katherine Luke and Devin Nelson each had 13 assists and Ashley Rosenwald-Muller had 12 digs.
Sydney Thompson had 11 assists for Howard in the loss, while Jenna Clark had nine digs and two blocks. Jessica Cavegielli finished with six kills.
Marion improved to 19-3 with the win and travels to take on Canton Tuesday. Howard dropped to 7-11 and takes on Iroquois Tuesday in Iroquois.
Bon Homme 3, Freeman 0
FREEMAN — Bon Homme edged Freeman in all three sets to come away with a 3-0 victory in high school volleyball action Thursday in Freeman. Set scores were 25-23, 25-22, 25-23.
Emily Pechous had 18 digs, five kills and three blocks for Bon Homme. Shawna Rezac had 10 digs, Caitlin McLouth had 10 kills, Jody Kriz had 27 digs and three aces and Alie Adams had 25 assists and three aces.
Dina Soulek led Freeman with 13 kills, two blocks, 13 digs and three aces. Nicole Hinckley had nine digs and three aces, Shelby Bauer had 15 digs, Lexi Graber had 11 digs and Grace Gering had 23 assists and 11 digs.
Bon Homme won the JV match and improved to 12-9 on the season. The Cavaliers take on Scotland Tuesday in Tyndall. Freeman dropped to 6-9 and takes on Canistota Tuesday in Canistota.
Gayville-Volin 3, Menno 1

MENNO — Menno dropped two high school volleyball matches Thursday in Menno, falling 3-1 to Gayville-Volin and 3-0 to Irene-Wakonda. Set scores in the first match were 16-25, 25-18, 25-14, 25-21 and the set scores in the Irene-Wakonda matchup were 25-10, 26-24, 25-20.
Shelby Huber had seven kills, seven digs and three aces for Menno in its first game of the night. Ashton Diede and Christina Herrboldt each finished with eight digs. In the second match, Madison Huber had eight assists and 11 digs to lead the Wolves. Shelby Huber had a team-high five kills.
Menno fell to 1-19 on the year and takes on Hanson Tuesday in Menno.
McCook Central/Montrose 3,
West Central 0
MONTROSE — McCook Central/Montrose defeated West Central 3-0 in high school volleyball action Thursday in Montrose. Set scores were 25-19, 26-24, 25-22.
Anna Olinger led the Fighting Cougars with 13 kills and eight digs. Jean Skoglund had nine kills and 18 blocks, while C.J. Ristesund had seven kills and four aces. Brianna Painter had 16 digs, Jaura Klaudt had 18 assists and five aces and Dana Kirby finished with 12 assists.
MCM improved to 6-13 with the win and takes on Canistota Monday in Salem.
Parker 3, Scotland 0
PARKER — Parker remained undefeated with a 3-0 win over Scotland in high school volleyball action Thursday in Parker. Set scores were 25-11, 25-11, 25-12.
Tessa Weeldreyer had 13 kills for Parker, while Amber Dysthe had 32 assists and seven digs, Micalanne Hanten had 14 digs and five aces and Jaime Haase led the team with four blocks.
Christy Mogck had 32 digs for Scotland. Amber Alvey had 12 digs, Kendra Rokusek had 21 digs and Carley Skorepa had six kills, six blocks and 19 digs.
Parker (24-0) also won the JV match and plays in the Chester Challenge Saturday, while Scotland dropped to 6-8 and will play in the Gayville-Volin tournament on Saturday.
White Lake 3, Dakota Christian 0
WHITE LAKE — Maria Nightingale recorded 17 kills, seven blocks and six digs in White Lake’s 3-0 win over Dakota Christian Thursday in White Lake. Set scores were 25-16, 25-15 and 25-21.
White Lake’s Clara Moeller and Jazmyn Hinker had seven kills apiece. Hinker added eight aces and Kim Munsen had 29 assists.
Dakota Christian’s Brooklyn Vander Pol had seven kills and two aces. Abbi BaanHofmann had six kills and eight digs.
White Lake (15-6) plays Bridgewater-Emery Tuesday in Emery. Dakota Christian (7-2) plays South Central Tuesday.

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Highmore-Harrold defeated Wessington Springs in straight sets in high school volleyball action Thursday.
Set scores were 25-15, 25-15, 25-19.
Wessington Springs’ Devin Tebay and Lexi Olinger each had an ace. Olinger also had three assists. Traci Orth had four kills, three blocks and 12 digs. Shyanne Kopfmann added three blocks.
Highmore-Harrold’s Tyann Hamlin had eight aces, nine kills and two blocks and McKenzee Zilverberg added 14 assists.
Wessington Springs (6-14) plays Sunshine Bible Academy Friday in Miller.
Platte-Geddes 3, Gregory 0
PLATTE — Kelly Knudson had 12 kills, three aces, two assists and five digs in Platte-Geddes’ three-set victory over Gregory in high school volleyball action Thursday.
Set scores were 25-18, 25-13, 25-20.
Platte-Geddes’ Kelli Sprik recorded three aces and 17 assists and seven digs. Maddy Tegethoff had 16 digs and one ace. Josie DeGroot had four kills, one block, two digs and one ace. Mackenzie Millar had three kills and nine digs and Shelby Rabenberg added five kills and eight digs. Madi Whalen tallied four kills, two assists and two digs.
Gregory’s Cheyenne Salonen had 11 kills, two aces and two blocks. Sierra Thomas had 21 assists and Desiree Stephen recorded 12 digs.
Platte-Geddes (11-5) plays Corsica/Stickney Monday, while Gregory (9-7) hosts Colome Tuesday.
