Mitchell woman admits to meth possession

A Mitchell woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession of methamphetamine.
Leah Rae Shields, 30, faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine as a result of the conviction.
In exchange for her plea, prosecutors dismissed a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and agreed to recommend Shields serve no more than three years in prison.
A presentence investigation was ordered and sentencing was set for November.
