10 claim prizes at kid’s soccer event

Nearly 40 participants competed in the local Maher Council of the Knights of Columbus annual Soccer Challenge Tuesday with 10 children receiving soccer balls for winning their division.
Student from grades 1-7 took part in the challenge and winners were Kaitlyn Chirstensen, Caroline Titze, Katie Rust, Olivia Thompson, Ellisa Jacquot, Hudson Haley, Colby Ostbye, Joe Johnson, Lucas Jacquot and Mark Novak.
Hieb receives GPAC golf honor

After shooting one-over par in the Hastings Invite golf tournament on Sept. 24, Dakota Wesleyan’s Austin Hieb received golfer-of-the-week honors for the Great Plains Athletic Conference.
The award, which was announced Wednesday afternoon, was given to Hieb for taking fifth place in last week’s tournament and first among GPAC golfers at the event.
