SIOUX FALLS (AP) — Two South Dakota licensing boards will be defending themselves later this month against citizen complaints that they broke the state's open meeting laws.
The South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners and the state Board of Massage Therapy each will have a hearing before the state's Open Meeting Commission on Oct. 29.
The media reports that the complaint against the massage therapy board is that members started an April 30 meeting in Fort Pierre early, held an improper executive session and failed to provide written materials to the public.
The complaint against the medical board involves sessions closed to the public during meetings March 27 and 28.
Officials with both boards deny violating the law.
