Mount Vernon activities range from basketball to blood drive

A listing of Mount Vernon activities.

Those attending the CBH contest on Oct. 9 are Cassidy Pohlen, serious prose; Phillip Millar, humorous; Haley Hinker and Deric Denning, duets; and Alaina Bertsch, Bryce Erickson, Charles Mahaffey and Jesse Olsen in reader’s theatre.

Those advancing to district competition on Oct. 31 are Bobby Beach-Pattison, oratory; Deric Denning, plays; Cassidy Pohlen, poetry; Haley Hinker, humorous; Alaina Bertsch and Bobby Beach-Pattison, duets; and Bobby Beach Pattison, Deric Denning, Haley Hinker and Phillip Millar in reader’s theater.

The following students will be members of the 2012-2013 middle players: Erin Denning, Hannah Clark, Bailey Schmeidt, Dylan Gerlach, Jacob Clark, Jacee Goldammer, Kayla Totton, Austin Kayser, Zach Mikkonen, CC Casillas, Hailey Walz, Abby Rang, Lucas Wieczorek, Sydney Tlam, Lainey Gregerson, Lorna Gregerson, Christian Anderson and Kayla Kluth.

Today there will be a junior high football game at Hanson at 4 p.m. There is also a junior high volleyball game at Emery at 4 p.m.

Tuesday there will be a fifth- and sixth-grade girls basketball game at Woonsocket at 4 p.m. and the fifthand sixth-grade boys game at 5:45 p.m.

The Mount Vernon-Plankinton Titans volleyball team will travel to White Lake with the C game at 5:30 p.m., the JV game at 6:30 p.m. and the varsity game at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, there will be a cross country meet at Viborg at 3 p.m.

Thursday, there will be a fifth- and sixth-grade girls basketball game at Stickney beginning at 4 p.m. with the fifth- and sixth-grade boys playing at 4:45 p.m. The junior high volleyball team will host Wagner in Plankinton beginning at 4 p.m. The girls volleyball C team will host Chamberlain in Plankinton beginning at 5:15 p.m., the JV game at 6:30 p.m. and the varsity game at 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 8, is an SESD day. There will be a junior high football game at Chamberlain beginning at 4:30 p.m. The Mount Vernon-Plankinton volleyball team will host Wagner in Mount Vernon with a C game beginning at 5:15 p.m., the JV game at 6:30 p.m. and the varsity game at 7:30 p.m.

On Oct, 9, the Mount Vernon American Legion Auxiliary will hold a blood drive from 2 to 6 pm. at St. Michael’s Parish Hall.
