VALLEY CITY, Neb. — The Dakota Wesleyan volleyball team lost 25-21, 23-25, 25-23, 25-22 to Valley City State Saturday.

Danielle Bird led the Tigers with 14 kills, nine digs, three blocks and two aces. Briana Jung recorded 31 assists in the win.

DWU’s Katie Lindow had 14 digs and Sammy Fluck tallied nine kills and three blocks.

The Tigers dropped to 4-16 on the season and play Briar Cliff University Tuesday in Sioux City, Iowa.

DWU women defeat Concordia

SEWARD, Neb. — Thara Ali Said scored two goals in the first half to lead the Dakota Wesleyan women’s soccer team to a 3-1 victory over Concordia Saturday in Seward, Neb.

The Tigers improved to 2-4 overall and 2-1 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference.

In addition to Ali Said’s two goals, Megan Johnson scored the Tigers’ final goal to seal the win.

The Tigers were outshot by Concordia 13-9 and DWU’s Erika Carpenter made seven saves in the win.

Concordia shuts out Tigers 6-0

SEWARD, Neb. — The Dakota Wesleyan men’s soccer team was held scoreless against Concordia in a Great Plains Athletic Conference matchup Saturday.

Concordia scored three goals in each half to defeat the Tigers 6-0.

DWU’s Eric Moller had two shots on goal but was unable to connect with the back of the net.

DWU was out shot by its opponent 18-11 in the game.

The Tigers dropped to 1-2 in conference play and 2-8 on the season.
