DWU suffers first loss of season to Hastings
The No. 22 ranked Dakota Wesleyan football team dropped its first game of the year 40-30 against an undefeated Hastings College football team in Hastings, Neb.
The No. 22 ranked Dakota Wesleyan football team dropped its first game of the year 40-30 against an undefeated Hastings College football team in Hastings, Neb.
Despite the loss, the Tigers outgained Hastings in total offensive yards. DWU had a total of 549 yards and Hastings recorded 523.
Hastings came out strong as it outscored the Tigers 17-3 in the first half. There was a combine total of seven touchdowns and one field goal scored in the second half of the game.
Quarterback Jon Bane completed 24 of 50 passes for 457 yards passing and three touchdowns and two interceptions. Running back Josh Endres had 99 yards on 23 carries.
Hastings quarterback John Dostal completed 19 of 32 passes for 314 yards and four touchdown. Dostal carried the ball 10 times for 80 yards on the day.
