Mitchell Special Olympic teams place 4th in state softball tourney

BROOKINGS — Three Mitchell Special Olympics teams placed fourth in their divisions at the Special Olympics South Dakota State Softball Tournament this past weekend in Brookings.

Members of the T-ball team were Paul Bauman, Bryton Cummings, Emilie Cummings, Brent Hieb, Jennifer Kunkel, April Lemke, Brodie Long, Tony Lucas, Kaitlyn Putnam, Micah Spanos, Carissa Vobr and Tiffany Vobr. Coaches were Mary Hieb, Gary Hieb and Rachel Hieb.

Members of the slow pitch team were Ian Ames, Tom Archambeau, Matt Baysinger, Thy Chum, Kyle Clarambeau, Chuck Grandrath, Chris Heckenlaible, Travis Hodne, Amanda Jones, Anthony Kelly, Brett Pederson, Matt Putnam and Danny Schneider. Coaches were Randy Kurth, Marie North and Nathan Putnam.

Members of the unified team were Josh Crittenden, Scott Goldammer, Aaron Krouse, Luke Nagel, Matt Tietz and Jerry Vobr. Unified partners were Jerimy Bultje, Ryan DeBoer, Becky Handrahan, Shana Jensen and Nathan Putnam. Coach was Rod Clarambeau.
