LETTER: Cheating the IRS hurts other taxpayers

I see these people on the TV advertising that if you owe the IRS money they can save us money. I don’t know what the catch is, but if you owe the IRS money, you better pay up or you might find yourself in jail. And if you know someone that is cheating on their taxes, it might pay you to report them.

I see these people on the TV advertising that if you owe the IRS money they can save us money. I don’t know what the catch is, but if you owe the IRS money, you better pay up or you might find yourself in jail. And if you know someone that is cheating on their taxes, it might pay you to report them.

I see where one guy got a $104 million reward for reporting a tax evasion scheme that allowed the IRS to collect $5 billion in back taxes. I suspect if we could catch all the tax cheaters we could make a big down payment on our national debt.

I know a lot of people hate to pay taxes, but the government needs money to operate and the only way it can get it is by collecting taxes. And if you like your government and what it is doing, you should be glad to pay your taxes. Right now that might not make much sense. Most taxes should be based on net income, because everybody should be able to pay that. Property tax can become a burden so that should be limited.

I see where Romney and Ryan are trying to put the blame for the uprising in the Muslim countries on Obama. Just like most, if not all, of their accusations that have no basis on the truth or fact. The fact is the uprising was caused by a film produced by a private producer and the government had absolutely nothing to do with it.
