Les and Jane DeWald, Fulton, were recognized by South Dakota Farm Bureau at the 2012 South Dakota State Fair as owners of a quasquincentennial (125-year) farm.

In 1882, Charles V. Radabaugh moved from Wisconsin to Hanson County and filed on a quarter of land in Hanson Township. The homestead certificate was signed by President Grover Cleveland in 1887. After Charley’s death in 1921, his son, C. Vinton Radabaugh, farmed the land. He continued farming and was joined by son Robert. After Robert’s untimely death in 1970, daughter Jane and husband Les DeWald moved to the Radabaugh homestead to continue the farming operation. They continue to live on the homestead.
