PIERRE (AP) — A South Dakota man accused of crashing a stolen car into a business so he could steal beer and cigarettes has been sentenced to a total of four years in prison and more than $7,000 in restitution.

Thirty-five-year-old Ryan Sholes, of Pierre, was accused of stealing a car in that city on June 8 and driving it into the door of a convenience store in Blunt about 20 miles away. Authorities say he later drove himself to the Hughes County Jail and turned himself in.

The media reports that Sholes pleaded guilty to charges including theft, intentional damage to property and driving under the influence.
