Spooked horses injure 2 girls at Harrisburg apple orchard

HARRISBURG (AP) — An apple orchard in South Dakota that provides entertainment for the public is looking into what spooked two horses hauling a wagon filled with people over the weekend. Witnesses say two girls were taken to a hospital after the incident.
Country Apple Orchard manager Nancy Olson said the Saturday incident near Harrisburg was an unfortunate accident. She said it was the first time in 15 years that people were hurt in a wagon accident.
Witnesses tell the media that the horses bolted after a loud noise and sprinted about the length of a football field. They say the two girls who were hurt fell off the wagon. Olson did not know the extent of the girls' injuries.
