Skinner has big day at the plate as Mitchell sweeps O'Gorman

SIOUX FALLS — Jenna Skinner drove in four runs in both games of a doubleheader as Mitchell swept Sioux Falls O’Gorman in high school softball action Monday in Sioux Falls.

SIOUX FALLS — Jenna Skinner drove in four runs in both games of a doubleheader as Mitchell swept Sioux Falls O’Gorman in high school softball action Monday in Sioux Falls.

Skinner went 2-for-3 in the first game as the Kernels won 5-3. Hallie Misiaszek drove in the other Mitchell run, while also picking up the win on the mound. Misiaszek allowed four hits and struck out five in a complete-game effort.

Mitchell scored 10 runs in the opening frame of the second game and cruised to a 12-5 win. Skinner recorded three hits and was matched in the RBI total by Abby Sudbeck, who finished 2-for-3 with four RBIs. Sudbeck drove in three with a home run in the game.

Misaiszek and Courtney Moore each went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the nightcap, while Krista Huber got the win on the mound. Huber struck out eight and allowed six hits.

Mitchell (9-8) also swept the JV games and takes on Watertown and West Central Sunday in Watertown.
