SIOUX FALLS (AP) — State officials have visited a detoxification center in Sioux Falls that has come under fire for alleged sub-standard patient care and hygiene.

Minnehaha County Commission Administrative Officer Ken McFarland says the state departments of Social Services and Health moved up a planned inspection of the facility after former and current staffers complained to a newspaper about the conditions at the Minnehaha County Detoxification Center.

McFarland says he also has asked state officials to look into allegations of shoddy record-keeping.

Tennessee-based Correct Care Solutions manages the center for the county. The media reports that Vice President Jeff Traczewski told commissioners this week that a team from the company has been in Sioux Falls since Sunday to review procedures. He says the company is proud of the work it is doing.
