A Mitchell man pleaded not guilty Tuesday to possession of methamphetamine and other drug charges.

Richard Alan Miller, 32, was arrested June 30 after Mitchell police found methamphetamine and marijuana in a search of a residence where Miller was present.

Miller faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine if convicted of meth possession. He was also charged with possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.

A trial date is set for next month.

Gladys Rose Jackson, 32, of Mitchell, was also arrested as a result of the search.

Jackson was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, but her case was rescheduled for next month.

Her court-appointed attorney Doug Papendick, of Mitchell, informed the court he had not yet met with her.
