WESSINGTON SPRINGS — A Wessington Springs man was killed Thursday in a two-vehicle crash near Wessington Springs.
Ronald Ogren, 63, was eastbound driving a Ford farm tractor on South Dakota Highway 34 about two miles west of Wessington Springs.
Ogren attempted to make a left turn into a private driveway and turned in front of a 2012 Kenworth fuel truck driven westbound by Joshua McGillvrey, 28, of Wolsey, according to South Dakota Highway Patrol Trooper Mark Chamberlain.
The impact threw Ogren from the tractor. He died at the scene, Chamberlain said.
McGillvrey, who was wearing a seat belt, received minor injuries. He was not cited.
“I don’t anticipate any charges at this time,” Chamberlain said.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. The Jerauld County Sheriff’s Office, the Wessington Springs Fire Department and the Jerauld County Ambulance assisted.
