Wessington Springs man dies in truck-tractor crash

WESSINGTON SPRINGS, S.D. – A Wessington Springs man died on Thursday, Sept. 6 in a two-vehicle crash on S.D. Highway 34 about two miles west of Wessington Springs.
Ronald Ogren, 63, was eastbound driving a Ford farm tractor. He attempted to make a left turn into a private driveway and turned in front of a 2012 Kenworth fuel truck driven westbound by Joshua McGillvrey, 28, of Wolsey, S.D. The impact threw Ogren from the tractor. He died at the scene. McGillvrey was wearing a seatbelt. He received minor injuries.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. Jerauld County Sheriff’s Office, Wessington Springs Fire Department and Jerauld County Ambulance assisted.
