RAPID CITY (AP) — The South Dakota National Guard has scheduled a welcome-home ceremony for a seven-person firefighting team returning from a year of duty in Afghanistan.
The members of the Sturgis-based 451st Engineer Detachment will be honored Friday afternoon at Camp Rapid, near Rapid City. The ceremony that is open to the public begins at 1:30 p.m.
Gov. Dennis Daugaard and state Guard commander Tim Reisch (rysh) are to speak.
