Kernels win game one, second to finsh at later date

SIOUX FALLS — Hallie Misiaszek finished with seven strikeouts in Mitchell’s 9-1 high school softball win over Sioux Falls Lincoln Tuesday in Sioux Falls.
Misiaszek pitched six innings and gave up one run on three hits in the game. Mitchell had the bats going as they recorded nine runs on 15 hits.
Abby Sudbeck went 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs, while Hannah Webster went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Jenna Skinner went 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs, and Courtney Moore went 3-for-4 at the plate.
The second game was two innings in and was suspended. The game is set to finish at a later date due to the weather and a time and date is yet to be determined.
Mitchell led 6-0 before the suspension with Krista Huber on the mound.
The Kernels travel to play Rapid City Central and Rapid City Stevens Friday and Saturday in Rapid City.
In JV action, Mitchell defeated Sioux Falls Lincoln 12-0 behind a no-hitter from the Kernels’ Andrea Konz. Alyssa Green hit a home run in the game.
