A Davison County woman is suing another local woman for medical expenses and lost wages she claims are the result of a 2009 car crash in Mitchell. Tarisa Jacobs and her attorney Doug Dailey, of Mitchell, filed a lawsuit Aug. 15 against Loraine Fischer, whom court documents say is also a resident of Davison County.
The suit stems from an Aug. 25, 2009, car crash that, according to Jacobs’ complaint, happened when Fischer failed to yield while making a left turn off North Sanborn Boulevard and collided with Jacobs.
The complaint states Jacobs suffered temporary and permanent injuries as a result of the crash.
Since the incident, Jacobs claims to have suffered “pain, suffering, emotional distress and discomfort, and loss of enjoyment of life.” She also claims to have incurred medical expenses and lost time at work because of the crash.
Jacobs is requesting a jury trial to determine what damages she is owed.
Fischer has not yet filed an answer to the suit.
