Mitchell teen cited after 2-vehicle crash

A Mitchell girl was cited following a two-vehicle accident Tuesday evening.

Around 5:10 p.m., Alyssa Green, a 15-year-old from Mitchell, was driving a 1992 Chevrolet pickup south at the intersection of Sanborn Boulevard and Hanson Street, according to Mitchell Police Division reports.

Green turned left and the front end of her pickup struck a 1980 Yamaha Moped driven by Nickolas Schrupp, 23, who was going north through the intersection.

According to police, the pickup also struck Schrupp’s left leg.

No injuries were reported, and police reports estimate $800 in damage to Green’s vehicle and $600 to Schrupp’s moped.

Green was cited for not yielding the right of way in a left turn.
