Hart, a native of Alexandria, graduated from Wesleyan in 2011 with a degree in sports management, and he is completing his master’s degree in administration and educational policy. Most recently, he served as the sports information and athletic department intern.
He’s the son of Athletic Director Curt Hart.
Hart’s responsibilities will include managing “The Huddle,” a group of former DWU athletes and coaches who have committed to helping the institution raise funds for a new sport and recreation center on campus, according to Theresa Kriese, vice president for business and advancement at DWU.
“Jon’s experience as a student-athlete, combined with his organizational skills and dedication to DWU athletics makes him a great fit for this new position,” Kriese said.
Hart is a former DWU football and baseball player. He was a member of the leadership teams for the Kelley Center for Entrepreneurship and Students in Free Enterprise, and he was a writer for the student newspaper, the Phreno Cosmian.
Hart began his new duties in mid-August.
