McCook Co. bridge to be replaced

The South Dakota Department of Transportation, in conjunction with the McCook County Highway Department, will begin work Monday to replace a bridge one-half mile east of Emery on 261st Street.

The South Dakota Department of Transportation, in conjunction with the McCook County Highway Department, will begin work Monday to replace a bridge one-half mile east of Emery on 261st Street.

The construction involves replacing the existing bridge, grading, riprap and surfacing.

261st Street will be closed between 430th Avenue and 431st Avenue during the project, which is expected to be finished by Oct. 15. Motorists should watch for trucks hauling construction materials in the area. The prime contractor is Graves Construction Company Inc., of Spencer, Iowa. — From an SDDOT news release
