Head Start food program launched

South Central Child Development Inc. announces the sponsorship of the Child and Adult Care Food Program. Meals will be made available to all children enrolled in the Head Start program.

South Central Child Development Inc. announces the sponsorship of the Child and Adult Care Food Program.

Meals will be made available to all children enrolled in the Head Start program.

Meals will be provided at Head Start locations and day care homes administered by the organization.

This includes the Mitchell Technical Institute Child Development Center in Mitchell.

Eligibility for the center’s meal reimbursement is based on the following annual income scales effective from July 1 until further notice, by family size:

• One, Eligible for free meals: $14,521; Reduced price meals: $20,665;

• Two, $19,669; $27,991;

• Three, $24,817; $35,317;

• Four, $29,965; $42,643;

• Five, $35,113; $49,969;

• Six, $40,261; $57,295;

• Seven, $45,469; $64,621;

• Eight, $50,557; $71,947.

For each additional family member add $5,148 for free meals and $7,326, for reduced price meals.

The information provided on applications for free or reduced price meals is confidential and is used only for the purpose of determining eligibility.
