BUFFALO COUNTY — A combine header trailer broke loose and went into a ditch in Buffalo County Saturday night, according to the Buffalo County Sheriff Department.

The sheriff’s department said that a custom harvesting crew from Mount Vernon was traveling south on Highway 45 when the combine header trailer’s hitch broke loose, sending the trailer across the highway and into the east ditch.

According to the sheriff’s department, no one was hurt, but damages to the header trailer were “extensive,” likely more than $10,000, as it went through a fence, took out a high-line electric pole and came to rest in a pasture.
