A man faces multiple drug-related charges as a result of a traffic stop shortly after midnight Aug. 11 in Mitchell.
Dylan Alan Hughes, 18, was arrested after Davison County Sheriff’s Deputy Steve Harr stopped Hughes for allegedly erratic lane driving and making an improper left turn.
Harr was hit in the face with marijuana smoke when Hughes lowered his window, court documents state. Authorities allegedly found four small bags of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
A 17-year-old passenger in the vehicle told authorities she was given alcohol by Hughes, which he later admitted, court documents say.
Hughes was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.045, and is also alleged to have been under the influence of marijuana.
Hughes faces nine criminal charges including driving while intoxicated, possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia in a motor vehicle.
He is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
