A Fort Thompson man will spend 96 months in prison for an assault charge stemming from November 2011.
A federal grand jury indicted Charles His Law, 29, with assault with a dangerous weapon, tampering with a victim, retaliating against a victim and interstate domestic violence on Dec. 14, 2011.
His Law pleaded guilty to assault resulting in serious bodily injury on April 17.
He was charged as a result of an incident on Nov. 3, 2011, when he became upset with the victim and hit her. The force of the blows knocked her to the ground and she suffered serious bodily injury.
His Law will also serve three years of supervised release, and pay $6,145.69 in restitution and a $100 special assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund.
