The Mitchell Planning and Zoning Commission will hear three requests for variances and one for a conditional use permit during its meeting today.

Ken and Kim Griffith have applied for a conditional use permit to construct mini-storage buildings at 403 E. Juniper Ave. They have also applied for a front yard variance of 20 feet instead of the required 30 feet at that same address. The request is being made because the front yard setback is not being met.

Bonnie Wells is seeking a variance to place a new home with an attached garage at 615 S. Davison St. The request is being made since the corner side yard setback is not being met.

JoAnn and Travis Hohrman want a variance to request the distance between their principal and accessory building be 3 feet instead of the mandated 10 feet at 1505 E. Hanson Ave.

All four of the requests were heard by the Mitchell City Council on Aug. 6 and, if approved today, will go back before the council on Aug. 20 for final approval.

The commission meets at noon Monday at City Hall Council Chambers. The meeting is open to the public.
